Colorado road trip.
Leave Lynnwood, 7:24 AM.
Arrive Mission Meadows RV Park, Ronan, Montana, time unknown Began my road trip to Colorado to visit my parents today. Since I've got as much time as I could possibly need, I wanted to take the scenic route down there, and take some time to explore Colorado a bit. So, rather than go down I-84 through Oregon and Idaho like one would if they were seeking the direct route, I decided to go east through Montana, then south. So, I took I-90 east, through Washington, into Idaho, and over Lookout Pass into Montana. Originally, I was planning on going past Bozeman, to Livingston, then south through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, but when I got to exit 37, 4 miles past the highway to take me to Glacier National Park, I decided to take a detour up and through there. So, I headed northeast on highway 135, to highway 93 north. Today, I made it as far as Ronan, where I camped at an RV park. Along the way, I made quick stops at Silver Mountain Ski Area in Idaho, and at Lookout Pass Ski Area, which sits right on the border between Idaho and Montana. Due to the large number of pictures from today (and several other days during the road trip), I'm implementing a new format for days such as today. I've broken the pictures up into several pages, to make each one more manageable. To see the pictures, either click on "Part 1" where the "Next" link usually is, or select one of the pages below. |
