Was driving east on I-90, trying to get as close as possible to Livingston, Montana, past Bozeman, where I was going to turn south and go through Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, when I passed a sign directing me to Glacier National Park. I was in the part when I was at Big Mountain in March, but since it was winter, the road was closed only a little way into the park. I pulled off the road 3 miles further and deliberated for 20 minutes or so, and finally decided to take the detour and go through Glacier. So I turned around, and headed up highway 135, to highway 93.
Stopped at an RV park near Ronan, which had a beautiful view of the Mission Range.

![]() The Montana Info Center that was near the offramp from I-90. I stopped in to ask how far it was to the park, and the best way to get there. It was looking like a 150-mile each way detour, assuming I came back down to I-90 the same way I went up. (I ended up not doing that, but more on that later.) |

![]() Highway 135 merged with highway 200, and went along a river for awhile. Not sure which river though. This is looking south during one of the bendy periods. |

![]() Another view along highway 200. |
![]() A view of some large, snowcovered peaks that sprung up, from the road. I found out soon after that those mountains are the Misson Range, which are part of the same range found in Glacier National Park, but further south. |

![]() Getting closer to the Mission Range at the junction of Highway 200 and Highway 93. I turned north on highway 93, which goes around Flathead Lake, and to Kalispell. (And highway 424 continues on to Whitefish, where Big Mountain is.) |
![]() Stopped at a Mission Range Scenic Viewpoint for a little while and enjoyed the view. There was a fence around the viewpoint, and a bunch of really noisy cows hanging around outside. Seriously, I've never heard a group of cows mooing so much. |
![]() Zoomed out, shoing the bigger view. |

![]() More cows. |
![]() Using my digital zoom in an attempt to show how steep the sides of one of the mountains were. But, as is always the case with my digital zoom, it comes out somewhat fuzzy. |
![]() One last view before I got back in the car and continued to look for a place to camp. |
![]() My car, parked at the viewpoint. |
![]() Stopped at another viewpoint along the road for a bit. There was this Native American guy there with a couple of his friends, who had me take pictures of them, and took pictures of me with them. Nice people. Apparently they went to school near there and were getting ready to drive home to Nevada for the summer. |
![]() This is the sign that I took a picture of to remind myself what the mountains were. |
![]() My camp site at the RV park. It wasn't very crowded. The 4 or 5 spots near me were all empty. |
