I felt a picture like this would be appropriate to take.. yaknow.. setting out on an adventure that we knew better than to do in one day, but we decided to do anyway.. It looked like a great place to take it.. because it looks really ominous.. but the silhouette effect keeps the focus on the task at hand, rather then on petty things (like the usual "hi mom!" waves and "wish you were here!" gestures..) (In other words, yes, I meant to do that.. Thanks for the photo mentorship, Dad! : ) As for who that girl is, I honestly can't remember her name.. I can tell you that she was the one from Lockheed Martin though..

Anyway, this, as the title of the page would suggest, is the mandatory "2001, A Space Odyssey" monumental pre-hike picture... whatever.. : )
